What is inside a Seed?

Lima_BeansYou will need: a variety of seeds, lima beans, corn, sunflower, peas, magnifying glasses and bowls of water.

What you do:

*Soak the seeds overnight.

*Look for the scar on the side of the seed. (This is the spot where the seed was attached to the plant.)

*Slip the seed coat off the bean and split the bean into two parts.

*Attached to half of the bean is a very tiny plant.

*Use the magnifying glass to find where the roots, stem, and leaves might grow from this plant.
